Trauma Recovery Individual Session
Complex Ptsd, the result of ongoing Childhood Abuse can affect many areas of our adult life. We end up unconsciously making unhealthy relationship decisions and can't put our finger on why or how we made such a bad decision. We can end up experiencing abuse as adults, we can feel disconnected from our self, and feeling like we don't know the answers to "Who am I" or "Why am I here?"
Add to this the ever present threat of anxiety/panic attacks and depression, plus an overwhelming fear that makes no sense as we stuff it down behind our mask of "I'm fine" and then we pretend daily as we carry on regardless of the deep pressure inside of us.
At night we don't sleep as we question why on earth we can't just get on with feeling alive, or we come across people who tell us either by implication or verbally to "just get over it and get on with it". Feeling guilty and ashamed the pressure gets to us and we wonder how we could have done things differently. The answer is we couldn't, we were children and we are not to blame. Not one iota of the blame rests with us. However, the decision to begin recovery does rest with us.
Recovery from Childhood Trauma is hard work. I won't lie to you. Why is it hard? Predominantly it's hard for a few reasons. Firstly, we don't have language around what is happening to us. Secondly, we've never been parented and therefore face reparenting ourselves, without having been modelled healthy parenting. Thirdly, our brain has been programmed for safety, and this means we have to take charge of the effort we put into recovery to enable our brain to create new neural pathways.
Where can we start?
Firstly, if a greater understanding and language is needed plus a desire to know more check out my YouTube page for videos with down to earth information. It's a great place to begin understanding happened and where to from here.

What happens in a Consultation?
Your initial consultation is an intake session with a strategy session for the next week. I have legal requirements as a professional I need to meet plus your history helps unpack where you are today.
We Do Not go back over the past in any depth. Doing so is counterproductive with Complex Ptsd. You are already reliving the trauma every day in your body, therefore, you do not need to revisit any trauma.
Complex Trauma Coaching is to equip you with tools, educate you with language and personal understanding and encourage you to take the next one step with the education and equipping. I will be your biggest fan!
At the end of the session we devise a new strategy for what you need in your life now, you record the strategy and take the strategic steps in between the consultations.
Can you work with a therapist and a coach at the same time? Yes, and you can also include your therapy and coaching with other practitioners also.
How often are my appointments? Depending on where you are in recovery will be the determining factor. Most clients work with me weekly to get into the rhythm and then drop back to fortnightly when they're ready. You will know exactly what you need and I will support your decisions.
Am I ready for Trauma Coaching? The answer lies in are you determined to become alive and unpack your authentic self and are you stable? Most of my clients find me when they've tried everything else and it hasn't worked, oftentimes clients have spent a long time in therapy and get fed up with making minimal progress.
Feel welcome to discuss what you need with me in FB Messenger. You'll find I never push anyone due to years of experience. When you're ready you're ready, so it's safe to have a chat with me.
How long does Recovery take? Unfortunately I can't be specific here as it's truly an individual journey needing to take into account many different factors. Just know that your hard work with coaching produces results you can see rapidly.
